Attention Scott Yee!
Expert Chord Recognition Mode
"The expert chord recognition mode has been added. This improves on the Fingered 2 mode, adding rootless and slashed chord recognition, often used in jazz, fusion, modern pop and light music. This type of chord recognition is very useful to play piano chords typical of jazz piano players. You don't need to play the root note, doubling the note already played by the bass track."
This is available in the new 3.05 software at www.korgpa.com

Hi. Yep Yep. Great news to hear that Korg has finally seen fit to implement, what I've been advocating and rallying for 'for many years' (since 1999) here.

In fact, It's now been confirmed (following receiving the chord recognition test results performed by Paolo (ptram), that EVERY one of my requested rootless jazz chords are now included in the PA1X & PA1Xpro's 'chord recognition table' with OS 2.50:

George, are you saying the Expert rootless chords are now also included in the PA80 with OS update 3.05 as well?

It's a great feeling to know that my long quest for getting rootless chord recognition included on 'all brands' of arrangers has finally taken hold. The only arranger keyboard manufacterers that have'nt yet come onboard are: Roland, Gem, and Casio.

George, I hope you might be willing to stick your neck out & use your business connections with Roland, Gem, and Casio, in persuading them to finally implement these pro sounding 'rootless chords' as well. This can only help broaden the appeal & respect for, and generate interest in arranger keyboard playing among traditional professional acoustic jazz style keyboard players.

As I mentioned before, Chris Halon (formerly the official kb artist & style creator for Technics) is now the Product Specialist at Roland. I would expect that it might be easy to convince him of the importance of adding rootless chord recogition on the G70, because Technics arrangers have included this feature all along. George, whatever you can do to help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Scott

George,
This is awesome news from Korgpa1x in addition with Mp3 capability.
I can't wait to get this kb, but at the moment I still can't let go my favorite 5 years old X1 yet for some reason. Another thing is I'm waiting for the pa1x to drop at $2k ??? Will it be, then I pick one from your store BTW, does the pa1x 61 key depth would fit in the Gator flight case 76 key model?

Danny,
Don't count on the price being anywhere near $2000.00 until you might find one used!
